Fiction & Non-Fiction Rooted in Personal Story

Moving Boxes and Kids’ Books

It’s been a wild ride around my house lately. Things have been cast into boxes and bins as we’ve moved from one home to another. Last night – two weeks into the move – I was able to finally unpack and set up my desk so that I could write.

It finally feels like home!

*Not my cat… He wouldn’t sit still long enough.

I’m now writing on the main level of the house with views of trees from the front, side, and back, and the light is glorious. I hope that it continues to make me feel as motivated as it does today.

Here’s what’s coming up…

I’ll be picking back up with the #FridayFictioneers this week. You can catch up on the previous entries here:

I’m going to be blogging over at about some of the projects that I’m doing around the house on a budget. And food. Probably lots of food.

I’m working on a new series for kids called Lola’s Adventures. These picture books will have a simple storyline and engaging illustrations, each written to highlight a different adventure that children can take. They will also feature a different art style in each book. Two books have been completed with two more in varying stages. I’ll be sharing more as we get closer to the official launch of the series.

If you’re one of my subscribers, you’ll be hearing about the series more soon via email as well as getting the opportunity to read the first few in the series for free. Sign up here if you’d like to be in the cool kids club: Subscribe me!

Lola's Adventures: a series for kids by Stephanie Pitcher Fishman

I’m still working on the second installment in The Widow Teal series. I’ll be shouting out for beta readers hopefully in June 2017.

Personally, I’m still dealing with my own battle against fibromyalgia as well as anxiety and panic disorder. I’m writing more about that in some essays that I may make public soon. I’d love to hear your story if you are struggling with a chronic illness like I am. Comment below, find me on social media, or email me. Together we can support each other.

And now for the good stuff….

Summer is coming! What’s on your summer reading list? I’d love to hear about what you’re reading. I’m focusing on light reading such as cozy mysteries in addition to some healthful topics like yoga, mindful meditation, and good nutrition. Any suggestions?

Until next time,
